Childspace CDI's mission is to improve the quality of jobs for traditionally low-paid child care workers, and, thereby, the care received by children.  Childspace CDI, together with its Provider Committee network and affiliated worker-owned child care centers, are simultaneously engaged in changing the field at three levels:

1. Empowering workers through structures that give them a voice in the management of their workplace;
2. Training directors and owners to improve their financial operations such that resources are available for improving compensation; and
3. Drawing these front-line workers and directors into advocacy efforts to increase subsidy rates, provide health insurance to low-income workers, and improve management of the state's subsidy programs.
